That missing Super Nintendo port of Disney's Aladdin made that collection feel incomplete, however. The 2019 Disney Classic Games brought back some of the most memorable licensed platformers and took them a step further.

Though there are three titles listed, the collection actually includes the following games: On top of the gameplay, there will also be concept art and 16-bit versions of the memorable songs from these franchises within the collection. The ports also allow players to jump into any part of each game they wish. As with the previous game, there remains the rewind feature that allows players to recover from any mistake that proved fatal in the original games. This includes ports of the Super Nintendo, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Sega MegaDrive versions of these classic platformers. The Disney Classic Games Collection will feature the classic platformers Disney's Aladdin, Disney's The Lion King, and Disney's The Jungle Book. Despite the different versions of the games offering the same gameplay, each one had different level design depending on the previous consoles capabilities. Though the original collection met with success, it was notably missing the Super Nintendo version of Disney's Aladdin. Similar to the original Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King, players will be able to jump back into some of the most iconic 90s platforming games with this collection. This follow up to Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King adds in that memorable port from 1993, three different ports of Disney's The Jungle Book, and a variety of additional content. If you already own the original compilation from 2019, you’ll be able to download a DLC pack featuring all of the new content for $9.99. Apparently, more content will be added to the in-game museum, but that stuff is likely secondary for most people looking to pick this up.ĭisney Classic Games Collection, as this new compilation is called, will run $29.99 and will be available on Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One later this fall, according to the folks over at IGN. Aladdin isn’t the only new addition this time around, as it’ll be joined by the SNES and Genesis versions of The Jungle Book as well. Good news: the SNES version of Aladdin is included in this new version of Disney Classic Games, which was announced today with the trailer you see embedded above. Lacking the SNES version of Aladdin, Disney Classic Games felt incomplete to a lot of people who played that game back in the day.
Both the Genesis and SNES versions of Aladdin are fondly remembered by many who played them, but they’re also completely different games. Specifically speaking, while the original Disney Classic Games was a solid compilation, it was missing one key game from Disney’s past: the SNES version of Aladdin.
